hmm, an introduction to my prac..?
AIM: to determine which beverage has the most erosive effect on dental enamel.
HYPOTHESIS: the drink with the most amount of sugar will erode the enamel most.
INTRODUCTION: A high percentage of people consume soft drinks have contain sugar or artificial sweeteners, flavourings, and various additives. The popularity of sport drinks is growing and my prac is to study the enamel dissolution in these and a variety of other beverages. Enamel, which eggs will replace, will be immersed in the selected beverages for a total of 7 days. During and before these seven days, the egss will be weighed, to see how much 'enamel' has been eroded.
METHOD:
1. Collect equipment, which include 5 eggs, 5 containers that fit eggs, coke, lemonade, ice coffee, water and red bull.
2. Pour drink into each container, marking each with the drink it has.
3. Weigh the egg to get inital mass.
4. Place one egg in each container.
5. Take out once every 24 hours, at the same time every day.
6. Record any changes in shape, size or weight.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 for 7 days.
8. Record overall results in table.
